Substitutions

I always say to make a recipe your own–but if you are looking for some ideas, I will provide some below:

  • You can use any pasta you want to, just read the package and adjust the cooking time as necessary
  • You can use fresh herbs (Martha Stewart’s recipe uses fresh herbs)
  • Instead of fresh garlic you can substitute it for garlic powder
  • Instead of spinach you can use artichoke hearts (quarter them)
  • Instead of cherry tomatoes you can use regular tomatoes, just cube them

Instructions for One Pot Pasta

  1. In a large pan combine uncooked pasta, chopped tomatoes; chopped spinach; sliced onion; spices and seasonings; olive oil and water. Bring to a boil over high-heat, add chicken bouillon, and stir and mix to combine with tongs. About 9 minutes for al dente, 11 minutes for well done. You may need to add a touch more water as you go until the noodles reach your desired tenderness.
  2. Remove from heat and adjust seasoning to taste. Garnish with parmesan and more oil if desired. Enjoy!
