Any kind of potato will do, the only rule is to heat up your milk and butter before adding it to your hot, freshly strained potatoes. Adding cold milk will cool the potatoes down, and will result in a heavy and hard-to-blend mash.

Ingredients
- 4 potatoes medium sized
- 1/4 cup milk heated
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt (to taste)
- ½ tsp pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of lightly salted water.
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Slice into 1 inch sized cubes.
- Drain once potatoes are fork tender.
- Bring the milk, butter, salt and pepper to a light boil.
- Gradually add the milk mixture to the potatoes as you mash them (either by hand or with a hand mixer). Be careful not to over-mix. Adjust seasoning as needed.
